Shipping Office Services:-

Import & Export Process Review & Identification of Training Needs

This is an in-company programme designed to help importers and exporters improve their performance. Typical problems confronting many importers and exporters include:-

Sales Order Processing

• Staff may not be fully aware of the complexities involved in doing business internationally
• They may not have received formal Training in the work of an Export Sales Office nor what is involved in processing Export Sales Orders and arranging their Despatch
• Often Staff cannot cope effectively with Documentary Collections and Letters of Credit

Import & Export Documentation

• When it comes to the provision of Export Documentation or dealing with Import Documents many Staff fail to appreciate what the various Documents are, why they are required, and how and/or when to complete them

Custom & Excise

• Not all companies can be confident that they fully satisfy all the various HM Revenue and Customs procedures involved when goods move within the EU and Internationally
• Staff may not appreciate ALL the Rules and Regulations imposed by Custom & Excise
• They may not understand the procedures and documentation that has to be secured for EC Sales and for VAT purposes generally

The Solution We Offer

We will carry out a comprehensive Desk-Top Review of your International Procurement activities including subsequent Import Procedures and / or your Export Sales Order Process and Despatch routines - from receipt of an Enquiry and preparation of the Quotation; through Sales Order Processing / Administration to Despatch and, finally, completion of the required Export Documentation and securing of Payment.

During our "Review" we will examine your compliance with the basic HM Revenue & Customs procedures and a "Bullet Point" Summary Report will be provided identifying appropriate Training Needs along with any areas of concern identified during the review.

This "Process Review" seeks to identify Staff Training Needs and ensure that any weaknesses in your current procedures, such as a failure to comply with HM Revenue & Customs requirements, are exposed. We will also endeavor to identify if other Customs Procedures might prove advantageous to you when shipping goods to / from the UK to non-EU markets.
